* Snoring detection requires you to grant access for Beddit to use the microphone on your iOS-device. Beddit does not record audio (e.g. speech) but only fluctuations in noise levels.
** Smart-measuring functionality requires you to authorize Beddit to use location services on your iOS-device. Smart measurement is based on iBeacon, and used only to initiate sleep sessions upon going to bed. Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.
Pros and cons of Beddit (for Model 3.0) app for iPhone and iPad
Beddit (for Model 3.0) app good for
App is both functional and visually appealing to use. Tells precise and useful information.
Apple Watch addition is nice however would be more useful if you could just start and stop a nap instead of use a "preset time" that may not be the actual nap time.
Keep up the good work!
Works great. Well designed app and really responsive support. I do recommend spending a bit more fir the "smart" version but either model works very well.
While I typically spend enough hours _in_ bed, I know that I rarely sleep well for most of those hours. Since it is difficult to improve something you cant measure, I looked into sleep tracking options for my iPhone to identify how much of the time spent in bed was actually deep sleep.
As an iPhone/Watch developer, initially I thought that Apple might add the functionality into the Apple Watch or provide an API that a developer could use to build a sleep monitor. I soon realized that the Watch would run out of power in 6 hours if it tried to record continuous heart rate and movement measurements. Since I try to sleep more than that (and dont always have a fully-charged Watch), I realized that a wall-powered sensor like Beddit was the only reliable way to record sleep metrics throughout the night.
So I bought Beddit Smart sensor at an Apple store in February 2016 and applied it to my mattress. As expected, it showed that my sleep efficiency was low most nights. At the time, the iPhone app didnt offer a way to keep track of factors that might have caused me to sleep poorly (or well), so I had to record those notes manually. By tracking those factors I have been able to improve my sleep significantly. Seeing my sleep efficiency score improve has helped me stick with good sleep habits.
Today as I looked at my sleep results I was excited to see the Notes field. Thank you Beddit Team for allowing me to track factors that hurt or help my sleep in the app!
The best sleep monitor I know of. Ive used a number of different sleep apps, but none of them are as accurate and detailed as the Beddit monitor. Continuous tracking of heart rate, respiration, and movement is not standard with the other programs.
I have had two beddit monitors malfunction. Customer support was awesome and after troubleshooting a few things sent a replacement in a matter of days.
This is a sleep tracker worth giving a try.
I have been using Beddit for a while now and it is a great tool. I share my results with my doctor and it helps regulate my meds.
During using Beddit, iPhones speaker volume is affected. It becomes very lower than a half. Is it a specification?
And if you prepare on/off button, it would be easier to use.
Some bad moments
I was very happy of this app that was showing very accurate data. But, since version 2.5.1, HR data are totally wrong.
This past night, I wore my Watch in order to compare. The Watch did collected accurate HR data (between 50 and 78 bpm), when Beddit is showing HR = 100 at any point of time in the same night ...
Can you please fix this issue ?
Crashes constantly. Band is cheap and fails. Im on my second one and only get a full night registering every three days or so.
The previous version of the app would crash about once a week during recording a nights sleep.
When they added the notes feature I started typing in a note, the app crashed and no longer opens. It crashes on launch every single time.
Restarted my phone multiple times and it still crashes on opening....and yes, my phone software is up to date.
Beddit seems to only work if you buy their sleep-tracking device. The iPhone or Apple Watch can display the data but cannot record sleep data.
The device works well but the application is very poor. It crushes a lot and it is not reliable.
After update to the new version, the app freeze at the connection screen and I cant connect with the Beddit to monitor!!
